She said it wasn't *terrible* but that it wasn't worth the hype. I think I shall borrow a book from your shelf and go in with lowered expectations when I do get around to watching it. Oh, and I DVRd Pitch Perfect based on your rec...haven't gotten to it yet, but I think I'm definitely more excited for that one than Oz. :Pstarryeyedjenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15841350560201331032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8318800217921114831.post-16102598222749738612013-06-22T10:37:59.788-04:002013-06-22T10:37:59.788-04:00That's hilarious. Honestly, I think a lot of the vitriol comes from loving the first movie so much, so maybe you'll enjoy it since you don't hold the original close to your heart. (For the record, I liked the first one, but it's not super special to me.) But the origin stories were one of my favorite parts, so if you don't care than you might not enjoy this. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you do end up watching it. I've heard pretty negative reviews, but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it, even if it was partly due to lowered expectations! I guess I'll try to be open to watching it if he really wants to, but I don't even like the original movie so... I guess we'll see. The "nods" were definitely my favorite part, but I'm glad they weren't too deferential. I'm definitely in the minority on this one. It got horrible reviews. Like I said, my expectations were so low and that definitely helped. Thanks for stopping by! I liked that it had nods to the classic, but it just fell flat and I thought that the casting was terrible. It was way too corny and not story based enough in my opinion. But I'm glad that you liked it more than I did! This was great review and I enjoyed reading what you had to say!Bystanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12600291606916740623noreply@blogger.com
