The Sudden Appearance of Hope

Author: Claire North
Publisher: Redhook
Release Date: May 17, 2016

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Listen.
All the world forgets me. First my face, then my voice, then the consequences of my deeds.
So listen. Remember me.

My name is Hope Arden, and you won't know who I am. We've met before - a thousand times. But I am the girl the world forgets.

It started when I was sixteen years old. A slow declining, an isolation, one piece at a time.

A father forgetting to drive me to school. A mother setting the table for three, not four. A teacher who forgets to chase my missing homework. A friend who looks straight through me and sees a stranger.

No matter what I do, the words I say, the people I hurt, the crimes I commit - you will never remember who I am.

That makes my life tricky. But it also makes me dangerous . . .

The Sudden Appearance of Hope is the tale of the girl no one remembers. But this gripping story – of love and loss, of hope and despair, of living in the moment and dying to leave a mark – is novel that will stay with you for ever.

Why I'm excited:
This doesn't sound like anything I've read before, which is a huge selling point. Even though this is an adult novel, it definitely sounds like something that YA lovers will enjoy as well. I'm so curious about Hope and which direction this story goes. Will be keeping my eyes open for this one.

  4. I will have to remember to order this for the library. I bet it would be popular with readers who liked Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. Sounds like that kind of dark and suspenseful read with intriguing characters and secrets. I hope you enjoy it!

Hello, there! Thanks for taking the time to comment. I read each and every one and will do my best to respond--usually on your blog instead of on mine. I will, however, always answer direct questions. Due to serious time restraints, this blog is now an award free zone, but I appreciate the thought!
