Pretty Little Liars meets Medium in this fast-paced thriller and fantastic YA debut from a New York Times bestselling author
Maddie Fynn is a shy high school junior, cursed with an eerie intuitive ability: she sees a series of unique digits hovering above the foreheads of each person she encounters. Her earliest memories are marked by these numbers, but it takes her father's premature death for Maddie and her family to realize that these mysterious digits are actually death dates, and just like birthdays, everyone has one.
Forced by her alcoholic mother to use her ability to make extra money, Maddie identifies the quickly approaching death date of one client's young son, but because her ability only allows her to see the when and not the how, she's unable to offer any more insight. When the boy goes missing on that exact date, law enforcement turns to Maddie.
Soon, Maddie is entangled in a homicide investigation, and more young people disappear and are later found murdered. A suspect for the investigation, a target for the murderer, and attracting the attentions of a mysterious young admirer who maybe connected to it all, Maddie's whole existence is about to be turned upside down. Can she right things before it's too late?
Why I'm Excited:
This sounds AMAZING! Seriously everything about this just sounds awesome. From her ability to the murder mystery. Gah! Want. Now.

Ooooh, Pretty Little Liars meets Medium. Sounds interesting! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of this one! It sort of reminds me of The Body Finder, too. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteOooh, this sounds really good! Thanks for putting it on my radar. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteJenea @ Books Live Forever's WoW
Awesome pick. I haven't seen this one yet. I loved the show Medium.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Medium. Still hate the freaking ending. I'm not even going to say about Pretty Little Liars, but it sure is the go to lately. :/ It's starting to get a little annoying. To be honest, it sounds more like Numb3rs meets Medium. But, yes. Me. Want. :)

Kirsty @ StudioReads
This is the first I've seen of this novel, but it is so going on my wishlist. It just sounds absolutely phenomenal. For some reason, books with countdowns or timers intrigue the hell out of me. Plus, there's the murder mystery, of course.
ReplyDeleteWow!! What a scary ability to have, but I am definitely intrigued by this one. I hope you enjoy it.

Alma @ Journey Through Fiction
This one sounds a lot like another book I've read (Numbers by Rachel Ward), but since it didn't turn out as good as I hoped it would be, I may try this one out. I'm really intrigued by the concept, and I would love to see it done well!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW.
SO many books have the "Pretty Little Liars Meets..." as their description. Is that just a ploy to get readers? I've never watched an episode, so I have no point of reference to what it means. Anyways... this does sound really good! I hope you enjoy reading it.
