TTT: Debuts that made me want more, more, more
(and some 2016 debuts I can't wait to read)

Stephanie Oakes 17185496 25107416

The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly blew me away. I loved it. Her upcoming book is The Arsonist  which doesn't have a synopsis beyond being a YA mystery that will be published next year. I don't care what it's about. I can't wait.

Julie Murphy 15728577 18304322

I loved Side Effects May Vary and can't wait to read Dumplin'. I have the arc, I just haven't been able to get to it yet. Her next book Ramona Drowning sounds a bit like Chasing Amy which is a movie I love.

Amanda Maciel 18599901

Tease was amazing. It was just so real. Neither the "bully" nor the "victim" were just a stereotype. It's a rough one, but so worth reading. Her upcoming novel A Perfect Disaster : "unflinchingly explores ideas of beauty and reputation, as well as issues of slut-shaming and homophobia, in this story of a teen girl learning to truly see herself and her world."

Ava Dellaira 18140047

So I'm picking some depressing ass books I've just realized, but I really did enjoy Love Letters to the Dead last year. Her next book, 17 Years , isn't scheduled to come out until 2018! The story will alternate between a mother and daughter when they are each 17, respectively.

Dawn Kurtagich 24396858 27270657

I'm actually reading Dead House right now (well I reluctantly took it back to the library because it had holds and then immediately put my name back on the list) and it is intriguing. I can't wait to see how it ends! Her upcoming book releasing next summer is The Creeper Man  which is another psychological thriller. Look at that cover! *shivers*

2016 debuts I need immediately

26156203 21936937 25721507

The Girl From Everywhere  by Heibi Heilig
A time-traveling pirate ship!!!
Zero Day  by Jan Gangei
This sounds very Homeland-ish in the best way.
How It Ends by Catherine Lo
So I'm always drawn to messy friendships stories, and this one sounds messy.
The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye
Special powers + Ottoman Empire = what I can only imagine is amazingness.
Blackhearts by Nicole Catroman
A love story starring Blackbeard.
This sounds adorable, but how charming is that cover?

That's it for me. What debuts had you wanting more? Link me up!

  3. I can't wait for more from Amanda Maciel. Tease was definitely unique in the way it told the opposite side of the story and her next book sounds just as controversial. I also want to read more from Ava Dellaira. I didn't love LLTTD, but it made me interested enough to want to read more. And OMG How it Ends and The Way to Game the Walk of Shame sound SO good!! I definitely want to read those!

  5. Great list. You have a few books on here that I have read and enjoyed myself. I think I am also going to have to add a few of these to my Christmas wishlist, it looks like I have missed out on some great debuts recently. I am so excited for every single one of those 2016 releases!!! I can't wait for next year, there are so many amazing books coming out. My wallet is going to be bleeding. Here's my TTT.

  6. I didn't know Dawn's next book had a title. It went straight on the Goodreads wishlist. I didn't love The Dead House as much as others, but it was fine and I could tell she has talent. New follower - even though I check your blog regularly, I just got around to doing it.

  7. I have Dead House to read as well - can't resist these reads when it turns cool and I want to be scared, lol! I can't wait to see if you like it. Your 2016 debuts are all great choices I would love to read. I will say I got the chance to read The Girl From Everywhere and it was SO Good! A winner IMO :)

Hello, there! Thanks for taking the time to comment. I read each and every one and will do my best to respond--usually on your blog instead of on mine. I will, however, always answer direct questions. Due to serious time restraints, this blog is now an award free zone, but I appreciate the thought!
