Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tyngas Reviews. This meme allows us to share the books we've recently added to our shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! *Clicking the link of a book's title will take you to Goodreads.
E-Book ARCs
Ink by Amanda Sun
This is already getting some pretty dismal reviews, but I'm still going to give this Japanese set book about pictures that come to life a shot. (Isn't this cover better than the US version?)
Sisterland by Curtis Sittenfeld
Prep is one of my all-time favorites, so I'm exited to read this novel about twin sisters.
Weather Witch by Shannon Delany
I'm not exactly sure what this is about. Witches and steam-punk.
That's Not Funny, That's Sick by Ellin Stein
A history and insider story of National Lampoon.
In the After by Demitria Lunetta
The world is attacked, a girl has to run and then maybe save the world.
fml by Shaun David Hutchinson
The story of an "epic" party. It's premise reminds me of that movie Can't Hardly Wait.
Confessions of an Almost Girlfriend by Louise Rozett
I have the first one checked out from the library, but haven't read it yet. I seriously need to get on that.
What I snagged from the library
Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
I can't believe I haven't read this yet. It was featured on so many quintessential summer time lists.
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
I'm so excited for this one. Everyone raves about it.
Just One Day by Gayle Forman
About a whirl-wind romance. Again, raves.
The Book of Broken Hearts by Sarah Ockler
I have the e-galley of this, but couldn't get into it. It sounds like it would be the perfect summer book, so I'm hoping having it in physical form and seeing that pretty cover will help.
Lots of good books this week. Surely one of these will be the one to get me out of this slump.
So what did you add to your shelves this week? Link me up!

Oooo, so many great books this week! Hopefully you like Ink. I keep seeing all the not so great reviews, which makes me sad, cause I had such great hopes for that one.

Oh, The Darkest Minds! I loved that one...and the sequel is up on NG!!! :) Amy & Roger and The Book of Broken Hearts were both cute. Great summer reads. I've actually been debating Just One Day for awhile...I keep adding it to my cart and then second-guessing myself and removing it. So, I can't wait to see what you think...I hope you can convince me to pick it up finally. :) Great haul! Hope you enjoy all your new reads!
ReplyDeleteI noticed the Ink cover looked different. I love it! Weather Witch looks cool. Witches and steampunk could work :) Nice haul! Enjoy.

I think great library hauls are even better than great review hauls! I'm glad you found some quality books at your library. I'm intrigued by In the After, so I'll be interested in your opinion, whenever you get around to it :) Happy reading!

Great haul. I'll be intrigued to see what you think of Sisterland, I'm a big fan of Prep but don't know anything about Sittenfeld's other stuff.

ReplyDeleteHere are my newest additions from this week.
I've been wanting to read Amy & Roger forever! Darkest Mind looks amazing and I know I've seen tons of great reviews of it, too. Also looking forward to reading Ink, despite a few low reviews. Still sounds good to me!
ReplyDeleteSo the only thing I've read on here is Amy & Roger's Epic Detour and I really liked it. It was one of those quick summery type reads. Confessions of an Almost Girlfriend looks good! Enjoy these :)

Ooh, wow! I'm excited to read In The After and Ink, even though I've noticed the not-so-great reviews for Ink as well. Hopefully it's not so bad! And The Darkest Minds! I definitely need to pick that one up, too. Hope you enjoy them :)
