Stacking the Shelves (22) 9.7.13

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tyngas Reviews. This meme allows us to share the books we've recently added to our shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! *Clicking the link of a book's title will take you to Goodreads.

So I'm feeling like I hit the jackpot this week. I'm so excited to read all 8 of these. In fact you may not hear from me for awhile because I have some serious reading to do.

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
I really like The Raven Boys and can't wait to find out what happens next.
The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas
I don't read a lot of fantasy, but this book about an elemental mage (whatever that is) sounds awesome.
Frozen by Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Johnston
About life in future Las Vegas where a new kind of magic is born. I love how the O is a dragon on the cover.
Dead Girls Don't Lie by Jennifer Shaw Wolf
A girl investigates her ex-best friend's murder. Those who know me know I cannot resist YA mystery.
Once We Were by Kat Zhang
The sequel to What's Left of Me (which I'm reading right now).

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas
I'm reading Throne of Glass and am hoping to finish it this weekend so I can dive into this one.
Cinder by Melissa Meyer
I've been listening to this on audio. I'm probably about 1/2 way through and am really enjoying it so far.
The movie rendition has been getting marvelous reviews. I can't wait to find out what all the fuss is about.

So that's it for me this week. I'm pretty excited about what I added to my shelves this week. What did you add to your shelves? Link me up!

  4. I will be picking up The Dream Thieves as soon as it comes out. If you read it before then you will have to let me know how it is. Cinder is another one that has been on my TBR list for a while. Enjoy!!

    Here is my STS:

  5. So many good books in your pile this week. The Dream Thieves is on my looking-forward-to-reading pile but there's a few in front of it right now. Story of my life. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy everything this week!

  6. Wow, what a great week. I have pre-ordered The Burning Sky and Frozen. I can't wait to read The Dream Thieves and Once We Were. Crown of Midnight is such a great sequel. And I saw the movie (The Spectacular Now) but I still haven't read the book (I'm usually pretty good about seeing the movie first but it just didn't work out this time). Have fun reading! ~Pam

  7. Cinder is amazing! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I'm really excited to try The Burning Sky too since I love Sherry Thomas's historical romances. Happy reading!

  8. You have The Burning Sky? I can't wait to read that one. It's one of my top books I'm looking forward to. Enjoy that one and all the rest! I especially hope you continue to like Cinder. That one is really good.

    My STS:

    P.S. Eight is a great number, isn't it? ;)

  9. I like Cinder. Hope you enjoy it too. Here is my STS

  11. I just won a copy of What's Left of Me and I am SO excited to start that one. Quite envious that you nabbed Frozen. I'm curious to see what you think of it.

    Happy reading!

  12. CINDER is AMAZING!!!!! Have fun reading all your books!

  13. The Cinder series is so good, I hope you love it. I just finished What's Left of Me and getting reading to dive in to Once We Were sometime this week! Burning Sky does look amazing and I definitely want to read Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight sometime soon!

  14. Oooh happy reading Natalie! Those are some great books! I'm waiting to get Crown of Midnight for an ARC tour and I also have Once We Were. I need to track down a copy of What's Left of Me first though. I also have The Burning Sky for review! Whew! I need to get off the computer and jump into all my books also1 LOL! Enjoy girl!

  15. Cinder is so good. I recommend you get Scarlet as soon as possible - somehow the sequel is event better. And enjoy Crown of Midnight when you get to it.

I hope the teaching is going well!

Here's my round-up of the week.

  16. Oooh, awesome haul! Dead Girls Don't Lie looks & sounds awesome! I still need to check out The Raven Boys and What's Left of Me. Cinder is good, but Scarlet is even better (in my opinion haha)! Hope you're enjoying all your books!

Bookmunchies' Sunday Post & STS (:

  17. Great haul! I have Cinder sitting on my shelf to read. Thanks for stopping by my STS too!

  18. Oh, WOW. You sure got some TERRIFIC books!! I want THE DREAM THIEVES, THE BURNING SKY, and CROWN OF MIDNIGHT!!!! But I need to have my books in printed editions, not e-books. I'm an obsessed bibliophile!!

The three books I've mentioned are already in my TBR pile, as well as Amazon wish list. CONGRATS on getting them!! I already own CINDER, but do have to read it! Lol.

Thanks for sharing your haul!! Happy reading!! : )

  19. Oh my gosh, you got Dead Girls Don't Lie, I've been pining for that book for months! I've also heard some great things about Frozen and Cinder. Awesome haul! :)
    Happy Reading! :D

  20. All of these are or sound great, but I'm really excited for you to read The Spectacular Now, especially after reading your review for Perks. I listened to the audio of this book, and MacLeod Andrews is perfection as the narrator. I LOVED this book and can't wait to see the movie!

  21. Yay, you got DEAD GIRLS DON'T LIE! I haven't started reading my copy yet but I just read a raving review of it so I'm super excited! I hope you end up liking FROZEN. I have literally not seen a single good review of it :/ Apparently it's confusing, has way too many mythical creatures, and has some inconsistencies. Curious to see what you think of it when you get to it!

Hello, there! Thanks for taking the time to comment. I read each and every one and will do my best to respond--usually on your blog instead of on mine. I will, however, always answer direct questions. Due to serious time restraints, this blog is now an award free zone, but I appreciate the thought!
