Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tyngas Reviews. This meme allows us to share the books we've recently added to our shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! *Clicking the link of a book's title will take you to Goodreads.
So. I pretty sure I'm reading roughly 10 books right now (which means I'm finishing 0), but I keep adding to my shelves regardless. Actually, as soon as I finish typing this I'm going back to bed and am going to finish Goodbye, Rebel Blue--ahem, finally--so look for a review for it next week (hopefully Mon). Once again, I got some books this week that I'm dying to read. Student teaching plus 2 part-time jobs are continuing to kick my ass. I'm exhausted all of the time and reading and this blog are obviously suffering because of it. I know that it is only for 1 semester and keep telling myself that. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving break--already. I hope you all are doing well.
For Review
Across a Star-Swept Sea by Diana Peterfreund
I've been dying to read this one. It is a retelling of The Scarlet Pumpernickel (which I haven't read) about a seemingly frivolous girl who is actually a spy. Look at that cover. I just love, love, love it.
The Vow by Jessica Martinez
A girl agrees to marry her platonic best friend when his father loses his job, and consequently, his work visa.
Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken
For real, y'all, this is the last sequel to a book I haven't read yet that I am requesting. I want to read The Darkest Minds, I've heard great things, but it is huge and so is this one. I will definitely be reading both...eventually.
Meet Me at the River by Nina de Gramont
Step-siblings in love. The boy dies. Then begins haunting the girl. We'll see how it goes.
From the Library
Vicious by Victoria Schwab
Finally! I have been checking my library status for this one like a fiend.
All Unquiet Things by Anna Jarzab
I actually read this YA murder mystery by Ms. Jarzab (the author of Tandem) when it came out three years ago. I remember liking it, but cannot remember whodunit and had a weird desire to pick it up again.

Thanks for stopping by, Grace.
DeleteMEET ME AT THE RIVER sounds so...strange? Is that the word I'm looking for? Step siblings in love?? Odd.But I do think the part about him coming back and haunting her is cool. I love me a paranormal read like that! Curious to see what you end up thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteTHE VOW sounds good! The cover is cute, although I wish the image was bigger. My bet is that they end up falling for each other ;)
Alright, I've seen so many people talking about VICIOUS. I have no idea what it's about but I obviously need to be adding it to my TBR list. I loved THE ARCHIVED so this one must be good!
Strange is a good word, I think.
DeleteI haven't read it yet, but based on the synopsis for The Vow, I believe she falls in love with somebody else, and then has to decide to still marry her friend instead.
I been staying far away from any reviews about Vicious, but all of my GR friends have given it 4/5 stars. I've only read the first 30 pages or so, but it's intriguing so far. I have to read The Archived still.
I'm interested to see what you think of Unquiet Things. I've been going back and forth on whether I should get it or not. Also, Vicious. I must get that one too. I hope you'll enjoy your loot this week!
ReplyDeleteI read All Unquiet when it came out and know I liked it even though I can't remember it. I'm so excited for Vicious. I've been dying to get my hands on that one. Thanks!
DeleteYAY for Across A Star-Swept Sea! I actually just got an ARC of that one on the 27th - Diana was at the Baltimore Book Festival, and she kindly gave me a signed ARC of that book! I was like, DYING. She is so sweet! She signed my ARC of For Darkness Shows the Stars, and then was like, do you want an ARC of Across A Star-Swept Sea? I was like, um, YES! :D
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope you enjoy all of your books!
Have a fabulous weekend!
Check out my STS post!
That's awesome! Thanks for dropping by and I hope your weekend is awesome, too!
DeleteGreat haul! I loved Never Fade and I really want to read Across a Star Swept Sea. Have fun reading and sorry you're so exhausted! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteThat sounded totally whiny didn't it. I was half-asleep when I wrote that and you can totally tell. I'm a bit overwhelmed, but good. Everything's good. Thanks, Pam!
DeleteI just added Meet Me at the River to my TBR list. It sound so interesting! Also, I totally know what you mean about being busy, I'm a little behind on reading too! Good luck getting some of them finished!
ReplyDeleteMy STS
Thanks, Chris! I'm so far behind there is no way I'll ever catch up with my ARCs and library books. Oh, well. I'm just going to read what I want when I have time.
DeleteThe Vow looks so good! I hope you enjoy all you got :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my STS!

ReplyDeleteMy Friends Are Fiction
Vicious has been on the top of my list for months. I still need to read The Darkest Minds, so it will be awhile before I get to Never Fade. Thanks for stopping by, Kristen!
DeleteI like the cover for Never Fade. I'll need to check out the blurb to see if it appeals to me!
ReplyDeleteIt's the sequel to The Darkest Minds. Just fyi.

Me, too. I'm definitely intrigued by that cover.
DeleteI am excited to see what you think of Across a Star-Swept Sea. I have heard mixed reviews on it but have yet to read it. It is such a pretty cover though!
ReplyDeleteAshley @The Quiet Concert
I haven't read any reviews yet--boo to mixed! The cover is so stunning.
DeleteAcross A Star-Swept Sea and Vicious look so good! Great haul :)
ReplyDelete-Scott Reads It!
I know! I've started Vicious. I'm loving it so far.
DeleteI've heard fabulous things about Vicious, but I've never read anything by this author before. Can't wait to see what you think and decide if I need to make time for it. Also, Across a Star-Swept Sky is fabulous! I think I love love love it as much as For Darkness Shows the Stars! And, dude, YOU HAVE TO READ THE DARKEST MINDS AND NEVER FADE! :D So good. And reading them back-to-back is beneficial. :)
