Waiting on Wednesday  is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating. Click the link to see the original post plus a whole slew of links to other blogs. After you read this one, of course.

Conjured
Title: Conjured
Author: Sarah Beth Durst
Publisher: Walker
Release Date: August 27, 2013

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Eve has a new home, a new face, and a new name—but no memories of her past. She’s been told that she's in a witness protection program. That she escaped a dangerous magic-wielding serial killer who still hunts her. The only thing she knows for sure is that there is something horrifying in her memories the people hiding her want to access—and there is nothing they won’t say—or do—to her to get her to remember.

At night she dreams of a tattered carnival tent and buttons being sewn into her skin. But during the day, she shelves books at the local library, trying to not let anyone know that she can do things—things like change the color of her eyes or walk through walls. When she does use her strange powers, she blacks out and is drawn into terrifying visions, returning to find that days or weeks have passed—and she’s lost all short-term memories. Eve must find out who and what she really is before the killer finds her—but the truth may be more dangerous than anyone could have ever imagined.

Why I'm excited:

Um, because of the words magic-wielding serial killer!!! She dreams of a carnival tent. She shelves books at her local library. She has strange powers. I'm pretty sure Sarah Beth Durst somehow read my mind  and came up with the most amazing synopsis of a book ever. (Maybe she has strange powers!) For real, this book sounds like it was made from awesome-sauce and I cannot wait to get it in my greedy little hands. I liked this author's novel Drink, Slay, Love so I definitely have some high hopes. (And is the serial killer Pinhead from Hellraiser? Because that would explain the acupunctured heart. 50 points if you get that reference.)

What about you? What book are you anxiously waiting for on this lovely May day? Leave me a comment below.

In othernews, I ADORED Sarah Beth Durst's Vessel and will pretty much read anything else by her from here on out. Crazy imagination that one. AWESOME pick!
